The mobile phone industry is now saturated with a lot of flagship mobile phones that, although offers impressive specs, are not really for all people (because of the price).
In today’s article, we are going to talk about a mobile phone that costs only $200. The mobile phone I am referring to is none other than the O+ Xfinit.
The O+ Xfinit is a budget-friendly phone but does offer a nice spec sheet for the price. Let’s start by talking about the mobile phone’s design. The O+ Xfinit sports a minimalist design that you normally see in other budget-friendly mobile phones.
It has three capacitative keys on the front of the mobile phone. They are pretty much okay and responsive; the only problem is that these keys are not backlit, so pressing them in dark areas can prove to be a little bit problematic.
On the right-hand side of the phone lies the power button and the volume controls. To the top lies the microSD card slot and the 3.5mm headphone jack and the microUSB port is placed at the bottom.
The back side of the mobile phone looks nice. Although the front side sports an okay design, the back cover offers a premium look. Its metallic chrome design gives it that aesthetic edge. At the top portion of the back cover lies the protruding camera and an LED flash just beside it. We’ll talk more about the camera later.
The O+ Xfinit does come with a 5-inch IPS display but it only offers a measly 1280×720 HD resolution and it only comes with a pixel density of 294ppi. Those are not impressive numbers by any means. Probably the only saving grace of the display is the fact that it is an IPS panel display which makes up with its impressive viewing angles and amazing color reproduction.
As for the performance aspect of the phone, it comes with a MediaTEK quad-core processor that is clocked at 1GHz, 3GB of RAM, and a PowerVR graphics processor. Both the process and the GPU aren’t impressive, but what impressed me is the hefty 3GB of RAM. Since most mobile phone apps today require a lot of RAM, it is nice to see 3GB of it in this budget-friendly phone.
This mobile phone also comes with the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. It doesn’t have any proprietary UI slapped in so it is nice to see and experience the vanilla Lollipop experience.
The camera of the O+ Xfinit is subpar at best. It does take nice photos when you have ample amount of light, but it doesn’t perform really well in low-lit environments. Also, the camera’s sensor can miscalculate the ambient light in certain situations although it has since been rectified with a system update.
Other notable features of the phone are its built-in accelerometer for active people, an FM Radio, 5-megapixel front camera and its 4G LTE support.
The O+ Xfinit mobile phone may lack in some areas, but for the price, it is pretty much okay. This mobile phone only costs $180-$200.
